Casey, could you please teach us Clarinet Polka? It seems to be a popular competition tune and it think it sounds super fun to play. I’ve attempted to learn it off of iTunes reccordings, but the shifting and double stops are making it tricky to figure out without a proper tutorial. I would really appreciate it 🙂

I have sooooo many favourites! André Brunet is one…I’ve recently been listening to some Kenny Baker. Mike Cleveland, Graham Townsend, Randy Howard, Dick Barrett….lots!

Great to hear you were able to see Master Kevin in person. He is truly delightful & is also a master of the gift of gab. We were lucky to have him visit Bend Oregon about 10 years ago and we really enjoyed the workshop and stories. Also great to hear you’re enjoying music in your senior years, So fiddling on Sir!. While you are adding tunes to the list for possible lessons by Kevin, Could you add “Tom Morrisons “? It’s what he plays with Beare Island Reel in the Portland album?

I shared this with Kevin and he said “A while back alright – probably 40 yrs or more!”

Just realized I was thinking about the ending of The Long Acre Adv lesson, not Lafferty’s, Steve. I had to check out that video of Kevin singing. I’ll ask him if he remembers that session…

This is a few years late, but in case you still have trouble, I am a left handed player but have a left handed fiddle. Even with the chin rest on the proper side, as mine was made, it just didn’t work. I now use a center mount, which is actually for right handed, but it works for me.

Indeed, maybe a bottle might come in handy the next time I tackle one of Andre’s tunes. lol

Man…at least they could have gifted you a bottle for your interest, UT!

Cool tune…I don’t know it, but it has a newish feel…kind of like some of Niall’s Breaking Trad & original stuff.
