Hi, Shannon. I’ve never been that impressed with Dominants, except for their wound E strings (#129 or #130). I use Prim mediums to get a brighter tone on the G, D and A string and I use the Dominant wound E’s.

Ahhh…you’ve earned the stiff joints…it’s just about finding the right tools to get you limbered up and enjoying the music you create! Fiddling can be a ton of fun, believe me. Anything that takes a bunch of work to get better at makes sucess that much sweeter!

Hi there, Sherlock. If I’m looking at the same part of the performance video as you (about :48 seconds in), I’m linking 5 notes together on an upbow. That is if you count the first finger slide down from the F# to the E as three distinct notes.

So the 5 upbow notes I’m playing are as follows:
