Hi Poetmom, Yes there are many points of view and since all strings are expensive its hard to test them at random because there are so many to try. So I would investigate cautiously and within your budget. If the strings you’re using are satisfactory then changing may be unnecessary. Everyone has a favorite string so you might sample strings by playing other fiddles and making note of the kind of strings on it. You might get a glimpse of different brands that way.
