Thanks for your question.  This one is tough and has required some research.<br />
Perhaps the place to start is with Tabledit.com.<br />
It’s a program that allows you to load sheet music PDF and convert to tabulature.<br />
It would be possible to load the PDF sheet music enclosed at the bottom of each lesson and convert to tab.</p>

But I’ve also heard a poor sounding fiddle will always be a poor sounding fiddle.<br />
A friend had his great grand father’s civil war era fiddle revoiced.  I heard the after and it was not remarkable.</p>

I’ve seen people use them.  I’ve only seen them at old-time jams used by older beginners.<br />
I don’t know one from the other.  It seems that the people that use them are dealing with some type of orthopedic issue that prevents a “classic hold” on the instrument.</p>

My first thought is to get a shoulder rest that will lift the left side (outside) of your instrument.<br />
In the process you would move your instrument to a more vertical position…less horizontal flat.<br />
In this position your wrist and fingers need a touch less arch, tension.<br />

Maybe, others can chime in.  I just set up the a-b loop on the video by hand, learn what I’m after and then abandon the lessons and move onto playing with the guitar tracks that are included with the lessons.   I try to leave the lessons as quickly as possible.<br />
Sometimes I record my own guitar tracks with a Ditto foot switch looper.</p>
