They definitely get better the more they are played. I got a violin off ebay that hadn’t been played since the 40’s at least. no strings or tailpiece or even a nut. I got it fixed and it was just ok. Hi, Liz. Good thought. I could certainly pull together a series on that…but my plate is way too full with editing other instructors’ lessons to commit to recording that soon. I hope to be back in the studio myself sometime next year…and I’ll consider this topic, for sure!

Hi Casey and Baz. Loving this site too! Is there any advice hidden away on this site on fills and pads for accompanying songs? Nothing flashy or soloistic, just something along the lines of how an acoustic guitar would accompany a singer?

I learned a version of Jean’s Reel a while back and had to try to figure out the embellishments from listening to it. Natalie MacMaster plays a great version on her album.
